Spotify Lyrics Pop-Out Support

Need help with Spotify Lyrics Pop-Out? Check the steps below first.

Quick checks

  1. Use desktop Google Chrome 130 or newer.
  2. Open Spotify Web and start playing a song.
  3. Click the extension icon, then click the green Lyrics Pop-Out launcher inside Spotify.
  4. Keep the Spotify tab open while the lyrics window is in use.

Lyrics depend on LRCLIB availability, so some tracks may have plain lyrics or no lyrics. Spotify podcasts, local files, ads, and some restricted tracks may not be supported.

“This browser can’t open pop-out windows”

The lyrics window uses Chrome’s Document Picture-in-Picture feature. If you see this message, your browser has that feature turned off or doesn’t support it.

  1. Use desktop Google Chrome (Windows, macOS, or Linux). Mobile browsers and some Chromium-based browsers can’t open the lyrics window.
  2. Update Chrome: open chrome://settings/help, let it update, then click Relaunch.
  3. If your Chrome is managed by a school or workplace, an administrator policy may block pop-out windows. Try a personal Chrome profile.

Lyrics out of sync

Lyrics follow the song automatically. If you scroll the lyrics yourself, they resume following five seconds after your last scroll. If lyrics still drift:

  1. Update to the latest extension version, then refresh the Spotify tab.
  2. Some tracks have several recorded versions; LRCLIB timing may match a different version. Report the track and artist so it can be checked.

Window settings

Edge/Pull Out mode and dimensions for both modes are saved as you change them.

Chrome manages the window position. Reopening requests the remembered position, but exact placement after a browser crash, restart, or display change depends on Chrome. Reload the extension and refresh Spotify after installing an update.

Read the Spotify Lyrics Pop-Out Privacy Policy. To erase any listening data you shared, use Delete my data on the extension’s Privacy & data page, or paste your Data ID into the deletion form on the privacy page.
